Why this mum switched from an AI baby sleep app to our Newborn Sleep Guide, and the difference it made

At 6 weeks old, Evie was taking lots of short naps and having broken nights, leaving mum Jay feeling like she was constantly guessing her way through sleep.

Jay was already using Huckleberry to track Evie’s sleep, feeds and nappy changes, and relying on the app’s AI recommendations to help work out her sleep times. But she still felt unsure about settling techniques and other ways she could support Evie’s sleep without always feeding or holding her.

After coming across Baby Sleep Code on Instagram, Jay decided to make the switch and started following our Newborn Sleep Guide.

Within the first week, Jay was already seeing progress. And by 2 weeks…

“Evie started sleeping through the night with just one dream feed about two weeks after we started using the guide.

One of the biggest changes for Jay was learning to use consistent sleep cues and associations, helping them establish a much more predictable sleep routine.

“I wasn’t expecting her to take to the guide as well as she did. I thought there would be a lot more pushback, but she adapted surprisingly quickly. The best part for us has been the sleepy cues, that’s something we implemented after reading the guide and have never stopped using.”

The guide also gave Jay more confidence in knowing what to do each day, while still having the flexibility to adapt.

“It took the guesswork out of things. Having both a set and more flexible schedules in the guide meant I could choose what worked for us that day, while still having something to follow.”

And the results continued well beyond the newborn stage.

By 4 months, Evie had started sleeping 7–7. At 7 months, Jay shared that she was still sleeping 7–7, even after a recent family trip to Japan.

More importantly, Jay felt like she now understood Evie’s sleep and had strong foundations she could continue to build on as she grew.

“I feel much more confident about what’s to come. The guide has helped us establish strong sleep foundations that we can continue to build on as she grows.”

When asked what she would say to another parent considering the Newborn Sleep Guide, Jay said:

“If you’re overwhelmed by all the advice out there, the best thing I did was choose one guide and stick to it. It helped cancel out all the noise. The advice wasn’t rigid. It offered flexible schedules and practical tips for those days when baby didn’t quite ‘follow’ the guide. I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone.”
