5 month old waking every 2 hours, feeding to sleep, to now falling asleep independently and sleeping 12 hours with one feed!

When Hallie was 5 months old, Mum Kate started using our Baby Program. At the time, sleep felt completely unpredictable.

Hallie had developed a strong feed-to-sleep association and would only contact nap during the day. Her naps were short, usually lasting around 30 minutes. While she could transfer into her bassinet at night, she was waking every 1.5 to 2 hours once the 4-month progression hit, and it could take up to an hour before she could be settled back to sleep with a feed.

Kate recalled that evenings felt very daunting and stressful.

“I would often vent to my husband that it feels pointless to try and get some sleep because she was likely to wake up as soon as I fell asleep. Since she was attached to me at all times during the day, I would doom scroll on my phone at night when I finally was able to put her in her bassinet and have a second to myself when I should have been sleeping. I felt like I was never going to get a good night’s sleep again.”

Kate found herself stuck in a cycle of exhaustion and her husband wanted to support her but didn’t know how to, which left them both feeling stuck.

“I tried looking up different sleep training techniques on google but was quickly overwhelmed every time with the information overload.”

Every time Kate thought she had found an approach to try, she would come across something that made her question it, which made it hard to follow through with any consistency.

“I was complaining to my sister about all the different opinions on google in regards to sleep training and that’s when she told me about the Baby Sleep Program. Friends of hers told her about this program and all the great reviews.”

Once Kate started implementing the Baby Program, their nights began to improve.

“By night 4, Hallie settled herself to sleep without one of us having to go in at all and had an 8 hour sleep stretch. Hallie went from waking every 2 hours to just once a night max just within a couple of weeks.”

Now, Hallie falls asleep within 5 minutes, takes consistent naps in her crib and often needs to be woken from her naps. Bedtime has become calm and predictable, and she is able to settle herself with minimal fuss.

One of the biggest turning points was being able to place Hallie into her crib fully awake and watch her fall asleep independently, without relying on feeding or settling for long periods of time.

“I am able to put Hallie down (AWAKE!!!) for her 2 naps a day. Night is no longer stressful - mama now looks forward to bedtime!”

What changed most for Kate wasn’t just Hallie’s sleep, but how her days felt. She now has predictability, confidence and the ability to plan her day knowing that sleep will happen. There is a sense of ease that comes from no longer second-guessing every decision.

“If I wanted to go anywhere I would just make sure to plan around her shorter naps so she could sleep in the car. We have built a great foundation for sleep and mom gets some independence back!”

By following the Baby Program, Kate and her husband were able to identify Hallie’s sleep associations, follow a consistent age-appropriate routine and remove the guesswork around timing, feeds and settling, even while they were on vacation.

Here’s what Kate shared after using the Baby Program:

“This program was the crutch that I needed to get through the sleep progression that Hallie was going through. Committing to one program took away all of the stress and overwhelming feelings regarding sleep training.

Baby sleep code helped us identify the issues and associations with Hallie’s sleep and gave us a realistic and easy to follow guide on how to resolve these issues. We learned a lot about sleep and could quickly pin down her sleep associations. We loved having the steps laid out clearly and the specific routines for her age. We never even considered that how we were dressing her was affecting her sleep - having the guide on how to dress your baby for sleep has also eased a ton of stress and anxiety!”

If you’re navigating short naps, frequent night wakes, or feeling overwhelmed by too much information, we want you to know that sleep can become simple for you too. Find out more about our Baby Program here.
